Las Cruces has a game table. You should be at it.
We host two ongoing adult gaming groups at our home in the Picacho Mountain area of Las Cruces. One plays heavy strategy board games. The other runs a tabletop RPG campaign. Both meet weekly, both are worth your Saturday or Sunday.
Picacho Mountain · Las Cruces, NM · LGBTQ+ friendly
Heavy, complex strategy games that fill an afternoon and leave you with something to think about. We play games like Twilight Imperium, Through the Ages, and Dune: Imperium. Friendly and low-pressure — we're happy to teach, but we take the games seriously.
Apply to Saturday GroupGM-led campaign using Draw Steel RPG and OSR systems. Tactical, heroic, cinematic fantasy — competent heroes making bold choices and winning hard-fought battles. Currently preparing the next campaign: the Charter of the Sapphire Writ.
Apply to Sunday Group
An estate home in the Picacho Mountain neighborhood of Las Cruces. Dedicated game room. 1,000+ game library. Street parking in a quiet residential neighborhood.
You can apply to one or both.
Both groups are for adults. We're looking for people who can commit to a regular schedule and bring focused, engaged energy to the table.
Both groups meet at the same location. Both are LGBTQ+ friendly. Both are free to join. Fair warning: Merlin, our male miniature schnauzer, may make an appearance and will collect his mandatory petting tax before allowing the session to proceed. He accepts scratches behind the ears as payment.
Before you apply
Do I need to bring my own board games?
No. We have a library of over 1,000 games, including 267 wargames at weight 3.5 and above. The host selects games for each session based on player count and group preferences. You just show up.
How experienced do other players tend to be?
It varies. Some players are veterans of heavy strategy games. Others are newer and learning. The group is happy to teach any game we play. What matters more than experience is showing up engaged and ready to think.
Can I try one session before committing?
Yes. After the application and a short call, you'll be invited to a trial session. No pressure on either side. If it's a good fit, you keep coming.
Is there parking?
Yes. There is plenty of parking at the venue. The home is in the Picacho Mountain subdivision in Las Cruces. The exact address is shared after the application process.
Do I need to stay for the full session?
The Saturday group runs 10 AM to 4 PM. If your time is short, we can play a shorter game — there's flexibility. The Sunday group runs 11 AM to 4 PM and we do ask that you commit to the full session, since the campaign depends on everyone being present.
Can I just show up?
No. Both groups are private and hosted in a home — not a game store or public venue. Start by submitting an application on the Saturday or Sunday page. From there it's a quick call, then a trial session. We're not gatekeeping for the sake of it — we're making sure the fit is right for everyone at the table.
