About

What kind of game this is

Sallet helmet close-up on cabinet shelf

This is not a game about counting torches, rationing food, or dying of sewer infections. This is Tactical Heroic Cinematic Fantasy.

You play larger-than-life heroes who take on threats that would break lesser mortals — and you do it with style. The core experience is straightforward: make bold choices, win hard-fought battles, and protect people who cannot protect themselves.

Jerry GMs. Sessions run Sundays 11 AM to 4 PM at a dedicated game room in the Picacho Mountain area. We rotate systems — primarily Draw Steel RPG with OSR influences — and we're currently building the table for the next campaign.

Next Campaign

The Charter of the Sapphire Writ

We're waiting for a fresh table before starting the next campaign — which means now is the right time to apply. Here's what you'd be signing up for.

The Realm is Fracturing

Roads are cut, local authorities are failing, and predatory forces are organizing. The Crown cannot stabilize the borderlands, so it has authorized the return of an old solution: a small, decisive order empowered to act fast.

You are that order. You are the Justiciars of the Sapphire Writ.

You carry a charter that grants emergency authority to cross borders, seize evidence, deputize local help, and take direct action when the law has collapsed. You are not here to posture. You are here to end crises and protect people.

Heroic baseline:

  • You do heroic deeds.
  • You fight for the vulnerable.
  • You leave places better than you found them.

Tier 1 Mandate (Levels 1–3):

  1. Restore the King's Peace to the river valleys.
  2. Break the bandit lords and the profiteers who feed them.
  3. Make travel and trade possible again.

Common Questions

Before you apply

Is there a tabletop RPG group in Las Cruces, NM?

How do I join the Las Cruces TTRPG group?

Submit an application at lascrucestabletopgaming.com/sunday.html. The GM will review it and reach out to schedule a quick call. If it's a good fit, you'll get a seat at the table from session one of the new campaign. The group is free to join.

Is this a D&D group?

Not exactly. Our primary system is Draw Steel RPG, with OSR systems in rotation. That said, if you're coming from D&D 5e, you'll feel at home fast — Draw Steel is tactical, heroic, and cinematic, just with better action economy and no 'I attack again' turns. We welcome D&D players. You don't need to know Draw Steel before you apply.

Can I just show up?

No. This is a private, in-home group — not a public meetup. You'll need to submit an application, have a short introductory call, and attend a trial session. If it's a good fit on both sides, you become a regular. The process exists to protect the table culture we've built.
